C.r.e.a.m. Team Records is a 90's hip-hop-themed label executive produced by DJ MITSU THE BEATS. For this third release, the label has invited Frank Nitt (hereafter referred to as "Frank") and Guilty Simpson (hereafter referred to as "Guilty"), both from Detroit, as its first guests from overseas. The song "M.O.V.E." was completed by the three strongest tag-team members.

Frank, known for his work as hip-hop duo Frank N Dank, and Guilty, a solo artist on the other hand, are not only from Detroit, but also have a strong connection to legendary producer J Dilla. If you are a core hip-hop fan, you may know that they are not only from Detroit, but also have a close connection with legendary producer J Dilla. Frank first met J Dilla when he was only 12 years old (note: J Dilla was one of Frank Nitt's sons). Frank first met J Dilla when he was only 12 years old (note: J Dilla was one year older than Frank Nitt), and J Dilla was the godfather of the group name Frank N Dank.

He was already known among hip-hop fans as a producer while working under the name Jay Dee, and he released his first album "Welcome 2 Detroit" under his own name (=Jay Dee aka J Dilla) in 2001, on the track "Pause". Frank N Dank participated in the album as a guest. Frank N Dank was also featured on "McNasty Filth," one of the main tracks on the 2003 album "Champion Sound" by Jaylib, a unit of J Dilla and LA producer Madlib.

I think it was J Dilla "Welcome 2 Detroit" that introduced me to Frank. I also really liked his rap on Jaylib's "McNasty Filth", which made a big impression on me. The 12" single was released in Europe (Germany) and was hard to find in Japan, so I had to import it myself. J Dilla produced it, and I was very influenced by the beat. It's an important song for me, and I still play it to this day.

Like Frank N Dank, Guilty was also featured on Jaylib's "Champion Sound," and his participation on the song "Strapped" was one of the first in his career as a rapper. Guilty then went on to participate in the albums "The Shining" and "Ruff Draft," which were released after J Dilla's death, and he became known as one of Detroit's hottest rappers, finally releasing his first album "Ode To The Ghetto" on Stones Throw in 2008. In 2008, he finally released his first album "Ode To The Ghetto" from Stones Throw. Naturally, the album also includes a song produced by J Dilla ("I Must Love You").

I first heard of Guilty as a J Dilla-related artist, and while Guilty's album was cool, my favorite Guilty song was "Fitta Happier" by Quakers (from their 2012 album "Quakers"), which featured a guest appearance by M.E.D. The video for the song is also really cool, but I was really taken by his hard-spitting rap. The music video is really cool, but I was really taken by his hard-spitting rap.

Incidentally, Guilty and Madlib teamed up to release "OJ Simpson" on Stones Throw in 2010, and Frank guested on the song "Scratch Warning" on this album.
DJ MITSU THE BEATS, who learned of Frank and Guilty as a result of J Dilla, a producer he admires, and who is also a pure fan of the two rappers, had a bit of a relationship with them prior to this collaboration.

I think it was in the late 2000s when I went to LA and heard that I could write a song with Guilty. I wanted to work with Guilty so badly, but I didn't have all the initiative. But I didn't have all the initiative, so it didn't happen at that time.

As for Frank, on the other hand, he has already collaborated with him on songs as a producer.

I think they approached me because they wanted to work with a Japanese bit maker. I provided the track "St. Louis (The Block)" which is on Frank N Dank's album "St. Louis" released in 2019. That was my first collaboration with Frank.

THE FACT THAT A SONG BY DJ MITSU THE BEATS BECAME THE TITLE TRACK OF THE ALBUM IS PROOF THAT THEY LIKED DJ MITSU THE BEATS' BEATS THAT MUCH. THE CONNECTION THAT WAS MADE BETWEEN THE TWO ARTISTS AT THIS TIME LED TO THIS COLLABORATION AS WELL.

I saw on Instagram or something that Frank and Guilty were writing a song together, and I thought, "If these two are still connected, maybe we can (write) a song together?" I thought, "If these two are still connected, maybe we can work together. So I asked Frank, and then Guilty through Frank.

One listen to "M.O.V.E." and one thinks that even though the three of them were in a sense connected by the person of J Dilla, the texture of the song is of a different type than that.

Since the theme is 90's hip-hop, if I tried to make it sound like J Dilla, it would sound like 2000, but I don't want it to sound like J Dilla.

The lively, live beat, while created by sampling, is probably the main attraction of this song.

I wanted to give it a 90's flavor, so I decided to make it jazzy with piano. However, jazzy does not mean soft, but more like jazz with a sharp taste. I thought that kind of beat would go well with the two rappers. However, like the bouncing of the piano and the drums, it was not the 90's itself, but rather a fusion of current hip-hop. I haven't done many tracks like this recently, and conversely, it has something in common with the beats I used to make in the 90s.

The first verse was rapped by Frank and the second by Guilty, and the title "M.O.V.E." was the key to the song. The two freestyled on the rhymes, moving forward in a speedy and thrilling manner.

Frank's rap was perfect at the beginning, and Guilty's rap was also very cool. Their lyrics also convey the sense that they are rapping in the heat of the moment, in a good way, which I feel is something that can only be done in hip-hop.

DJ MITSU THE BEATS ALSO FEELS A STRONG SENSE OF "DETROIT" IN THE RAP MUSIC OF THESE TWO.

I CAN'T EXPLAIN WHAT PART, BUT I REALLY FEEL DETROIT FROM THESE TWO. IT MAY JUST BE AN IMAGE THAT HAS BEEN IMPRINTED IN MY MIND THROUGH LISTENING TO THEIR MUSIC SO MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS. WHEN I WENT TO DETROIT ONE TIME A LONG TIME AGO, I DJ'D AT A PARTY. AT THAT TIME, DETROIT WAS IN A COMPLETE DECLINE OF THE AUTO INDUSTRY AND THE CITY ITSELF WAS IN RUINS. I DJ'D ON SEVERAL FLOORS OF A BUILDING, BUT IT WAS DIMLY LIT AND THERE WERE ONLY ABOUT 20 PEOPLE IN THE AUDIENCE. I LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW OF THE BUILDING AND SAW NO ONE WALKING AROUND. IN SUCH A SITUATION, THE MUSIC BEING PLAYED WAS REALLY COOL. THE INFLUENCE I RECEIVED THERE WAS SO GREAT THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SHAKE THE MEMORY OF THAT TIME. THAT IS MY IMAGE OF DETROIT.

M.O.V.E." WAS BORN FROM THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE TWO CITIES OF SENDAI AND DETROIT. THE GROOVE OF THIS SONG SEEMS TO BE CONTAINED IN THE FACT THAT THEY ARE NOT FROM CITIES SUCH AS TOKYO, NEW YORK, OR LOS ANGELES. I ALSO HOPE THAT THIS SONG WILL LEAD TO MORE CROSS-BORDER COLLABORATIONS BETWEEN DJ MITSU THE BEATS, EITHER WITH THE TWO OF THEM OR WITH OTHER ARTISTS AS WELL.
